That Fury is like a drug dog. A drug dog with a failing sense of smell, of course.

Should any of you come across one or two detectives sniffing around, remember you are mortal now. I am not going to prison or an insane asylum because one of you should of had your tongue removed at creation.

That is all.

[Calmly, as if the conversation was perfectly normal]

Hmmm.

I require your services.

[In a dark voice - satisfied with something, but quite thoughtful. He speaks carefully, so as not to reveal too much.]

Fingers... then teeth.

[Strange background sounds - a slice of meat, a thunk of bone, muffled patterns of sound that could be compared to stifled speech, perhaps a scream, silence thereafter - as if in a silent, perhaps empty, slaughter house, although less squeals.]

Consider it... divine intervention...

[A throaty, yet hushed, laugh and a moment of silence before a click and then end of transmission.]

The forensic psychologist at the office says I need something worth living for.

Apparently there is no point to my existence at present.

She said I should make more of an effort with family. She does not know my family.

It is always the women in that office who point out the worst in people.

Hm.

By far the most interesting thing that has occurred since arriving here - for the first time I have felt the need to filter a post. The reasons behind such an act are not entirely clear yet, but I am beginning to think that this peculiar sense in the pit of my stomach has something to do with it. I have been searching the internet to see if it can enlighten me on these current "feelings" and the answer appears to be that I am experiencing some form of "embarrassment". I am not certain what the cause of said "embarrassment" is, but it is probable that it has something to do with that moment of melodrama I suffered a few weeks ago. In addition to that, it seems that my experience of death, although vastly captivating, was both painful and not lingering as I provided those pre-historic beasts with a morning snack. That encounter is best undergone once, I should think, as I have evidently learnt from that lesson.

[Filter: Public]

I see that everything has reverted back to normal since the arrival of the raptors – injuries are healed, the dead are raised and the normal monotony of day to day life has begun again. My desk at work appears to have fallen into a state of neglect, and the department seems to have hired someone to help me with my work. They couldn’t have just fired me, of course, as this new person doesn’t really excel in blood splatter analysis but it is likely that they are hoping she will learn what she can from me and then go on to take my job. This could be potentially problematic in the future; I will have to keep an eye on things.

At present, however, I am not in the office and I find myself in a state of hunger. I think tonight is a spaghetti bolognaise night. Am I cooking for two, Hermione?

[His voice is overly solemn, with emphasis on words making him sound like he is some sort of Shakespearean character who's spent to long in Exaggeration Land. Life is quite clearly unfair, and he is here to make sure everybody realises how dire their lives have become >.>]

Woe! Woe be this day! This frightfully, inconceivably disastrous day!

My heart, my heart it yearned for some glimpse into the feelings of the so very pitiful mortals that cover the earth with their tiny, inconsequential existences but now my heart aches and burns with sorrow! What can be done? What can I do? Such a rush of emotion is too much to bear! I cannot go on! I cannot!

[You can almost here the dramatic gestures and waving arms.]

Cronus! You fiend and sworn enemy of the earth! Foul bringer of misery! Irritation to the immortals! You will rue the very day you cast us down to this place! The anger of the gods is too tremendous for one being with withstand! Cursed, cursed to eternal doom you shall be! Forever! Forever!

[An overly forlorn sigh.]

What unspeakable misfortunes have been bestowed on the rest of you? My heart may be overflowing with emotion but my dire thirst for knowledge is still present!

The Boss was not impressed that I did not show up for work for a week. Apparently I have poor discipline. He conveniently missed out the part where I showed up for work every day on time before being locked in the complex. Persuading him that an aunt in Brooklyn was ill and needed my attention for the week was troublesome, convincing him that I could not reach him via phone, fax or email etc. was even more so. Eventually I told him that he was either going to accept that what I was telling him was the truth or he was going to have to go another week without a blood splatter analyst. As it happens they appear to be useless without me. They held an innocent man in custody for three days on suspicion of bludgeoning his step-daughter to death when the person who killed her would have quite obviously been covered head to foot in the blood from her head. The step-father was only covered across his arms where he had been holding her as she lay dying. I don't wonder how the solve rate for homicides is so low any more. The answer is quite clear.

Whilst the homicide department were attempting to condemn an innocent man to jail for the rest of his life, I was wandering around the complex, as most of us were. The different reactions the unknown gets out of everyone is truly brilliant to watch. Some break down, some lose their minds, some find courage they didn't know they had and some merely cling to the hope that everything will return to normal soon. The best and worst of mortal gods. A fantastic show, even if it wasn't a blackout.

Pain is a most intriguing thing. I had my first taste of it today when I sliced my palm with a knife. Whether it was my subconscious making me act unconsciously or whether it was a complete accident, I am not sure. But whichever it was, the experience was compelling. I was deep in thought about how others would react to such an injury when my employer exclaimed that I was bleeding all over important paperwork. He then proceeded to rant aimlessly about health and safety. I do not pay much notice to the things he says. They are pointless and unproductive. He also has a rather bad habit of pointing out the obvious. If you slice your hand open with a knife one would expect you to bleed over something.

Time spent at work, I have realised, is time spent differently than in the complex. It seems to me that I begin to fake human reactions, emotions, facial expressions, when I am around mortals from this time. I appear to imitate them well. It is humorous that in a building full of police officers who have a supposed brilliant insight into the souls and minds that none of them truly see through my mask. I am glad you all are not so blind.

Well, I think all is a little too much of a stretch of the imagination, for those of you who have one. It is quite clear that a great deal of you read what you wish to read and turn a blind eye to what you do not want to see. Many of you are so dazed by family ties and old loves that you fail to see past façades that have been well placed, but are not infallible. I suggest you all take a look at those you trust and see them for what they really are because, truly, your lack of noticing the obvious is pathetic.

Good day~
